  • Monthly Meditation w/ Carrie Murphy, LAc Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture

    Tuesday October 9, 2018  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Elements East, 191 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202, USA

We welcome Carrie Murphy, LAc, Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture for our monthly meditation. The metal element in Chinese five-element theory is, for some, the most exotic. Not all systems consider metal an element at all. Metal rules the autumn, so as the leaves change and the air cools, we look to the wisdom of metal for guidance on clear judgement and steely resolve. Join cm for a discussion of how to make the most of this beautiful season with the proper nutrition, exercise, meditation, and practices of Metal.

  • Patience of Tea: Beginner’s meditation

    Thursday October 18, 2018  5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Elements East, 191 N Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202, USA

The warmth and beauty of tea is not only soothing, it can also become a meditation practice in itself. In this beginner’s level meditation class, learn how meditating with tea grounds the body and connects us to our senses. You’ll also experience classical, artful brewing techniques that cultivate a deeply felt understanding of patience, compassion and being in the present moment with tea. All levels of tea enthusiast or meditation practice welcome – tea is here wherever you are starting.

Notes: Cups and a variety of teas will be provided. It’s recommended to eat some light snacks before this workshop, and wear soft comfortable clothes for sitting. These are traditional “true teas” from the tea plant and not herbal/medicinal teas. They have some natural caffeine, but participants will be guided on how to self-regulate within their comfort zone. For more information about tea meditation training, visit BeingTea.com

Fee: $25 Please Rsvp by Sept 15th. Fee due upon registration.
